terms of service

these terms govern your use of hold your voice at holdyourvoice.com, including the web app, dashboard, api, and npm cli. by creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. if you do not agree, do not use the service.

nothing here removes rights you already have under local consumer protection law.

1. who operates the service

hold your voice is operated by shashank n, an independent builder. contact: shashank@holdyourvoice.com.

2. what the service does

hold your voice helps you build a voice profile from your writing and check drafts for drift, ai patterns, and off-brand phrasing. the cli can scan text locally on your device. paid cloud features — rewrites, dashboard sync, team sharing, and api access — process content on our servers through third-party ai providers.

analysis and rewrite suggestions are tools, not guarantees. you are responsible for what you publish.

4. your content

you keep ownership of everything you write. we do not claim copyright over your documents, voice profiles, or uploaded samples.

you grant us a limited license to store, process, and transmit your content only to run the service — for example, to score a draft, generate a rewrite, or sync your profile across devices. we do not use your content to train public ai models.

5. subscriptions and billing

current paid plans include individual ($1 for the first month, then $9/month), multiple ($29/month), and lifetime access ($49 one-time). free local scanning does not require payment. plan names, limits, and prices may change for new signups; existing subscribers keep their current price until they change plans or cancel.

7. third-party services

the service relies on third parties — including cloudflare, dodo payments, google sign-in, analytics providers, and ai model hosts. their outages, policy changes, or pricing can affect availability. we are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.

8. availability

we aim to keep the service up, but we do not promise uninterrupted access. maintenance, provider failures, and force majeure events can cause downtime.

9. termination

you may stop using the service and cancel billing at any time. we may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, abuse the platform, or create legal or security risk. on termination, your right to use the service ends. you can request account deletion by email.

10. disclaimer

the service is provided "as is" and "as available." we disclaim all warranties to the fullest extent permitted by law, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

11. limitation of liability

to the fullest extent permitted by law, hold your voice and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, goodwill, or business interruption.

our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or (b) usd $50.

some jurisdictions do not allow these limits. where they are prohibited, our liability is limited to the minimum allowed by law.

12. indemnity

you agree to defend and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your content, your misuse of the service, or your violation of these terms, except where caused by our intentional misconduct or gross negligence.

13. international users

the service is operated from india. if you use it from another country, you are responsible for complying with local laws. you consent to having your data processed in india and in other countries where our subprocessors operate, as described in our privacy policy.

14. governing law and disputes

these terms are governed by the laws of india, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. courts in bengaluru, karnataka, india have exclusive jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer protection law in your country gives you the right to bring claims in your local courts.

before filing a formal claim, email us at shashank@holdyourvoice.com with a short description of the issue. we will try to resolve it in good faith.

15. changes

we may update these terms. material changes will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date and, when appropriate, emailed to account holders. continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
